10.2.2013 “A Big Bill”

Thoth watches tennis and writes. He gets dressed and wakes LA at 10. He starts ranting about all the people who have stopped him and them from playing from the Academy Awards to now. “I’m more infuriated now than yesterday,” Thoth says. “If I see that guard, I’m going to flay her alive. I’m totally pissed off. I think it’s because I had to give up my study time so we can go out early.” LA gets dressed, and she and Thoth leave at 11 for the park. Again, the park is cold and slow. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be here so early,” LA says. She and Thoth set up. A woman approaches them and asks: “Can I buy a CD before you start?” LA and Thoth look at each other with mouths agape. “I saw you guys last week,” the woman continues, “and became a Facebook fan. I read you would be here earlier.” After buying a CD, she leaves. The clock tower bell begins a song medley at 12. “I never heard that before,” LA remarks. One of their fans, Forrest, shows up with his family. “Did you start yet?” he says. “No, we were waiting for you,” LA and Thoth say. The Dynamic Duo plays until 2. Forrest’s brother Travis gives Thoth a big bill. A woman buys a CD. “That was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life,” she says. When they finish, Forrest hands Thoth a bill. Thoth passes it to LA. She peeks at it. “Oh Forrest, that’s so sweet! I love you!” LA says hugging him. “You don’t have to do that.” “It gives me an excuse to become independently wealthy so you guys won’t ever
